Nebulae

Pohnpei Edge Nebula

Pohnpei Nebula is the largest cloud of Omicron Zeta, orbiting on the outskirts of the system. First noted by Zoner explorers from Freeport 11 in 815 AS, the nebula is infamous for exceptionally high Nomad activity. This presence has only grown worse since the desolation of Cairo and Capetown bases, leading many to believe the nebula contains the entrance to the Nomads' secretive home worlds.

Yap Edge Nebula

Yap Edge Nebula is the center for most Order activities in the Omicron Zeta system. The nebula contains a jump hole leading into Omicron Mu. The Order keeps the nebula under close control, and its patrols frequent the area.

Asteroid Fields

Chuuk Asteroid Field

Chuuk field of rock asteroids is a remnant of a cosmic cataclysm that occured many millenia ago. A particularly large planetesimal hit Planet Magur that was split into several parts after the impact. The largest formed Magur dwarf planet that is currently seen in the central part of the field. Other remnants of Magur were crushed into smaller fragments and now comprise a large formation of asteroids that are held together by Magur's gravitation.

Tofol Nebula

A smaller outcropping of the Pohnpei Nebula, Tofol is a more dense, asteroid-filled cloud on the outskirts of Omicron Zeta. Its remoteness and lack of any immediate points of interest, mean that barely any human dares venture into it, and even fewer return.

Yap Asteroid Field

Yap Asteroid Field is located within the nebula designated with the same name. The Order cleared several passages within the field for its capital ships to move around safely.

The Orion was a Core battlecruiser that entered service in 830 AS, shortly before the loss of Omicron Rho. It was later refitted at Durban Station with many innovative automated systems derived from the Core's exploitation of Planet Gammu. It took a leading role during the attack on Cairo Station in early 835 AS, where it provided support to the Battleship Mars.

The Orion initially performed beyond expectations, however with the revolt of the Battleship Mars, many of its systems temporarily malfunctioned until field repairs were applied. When the Nomads launched their assault, the bloodied Core force retreated to Capetown Station. The Orion suffered fatal damage while destroying a Nomad battleship in defense of the evacuation, and was scuttled soon after.

Accra Wreck - F/E-5/6

The Accra was a veteran Core destroyer that entered service in 819 AS, prowling the Omicrons in Acquisition Service hunting packs. It participated in the attack on Cairo Station in early 835 AS, where it provided support to the Battlecruiser Bissau.

Following the revolt of the Battleship Mars, the Accra's more dated systems were largely unaffected. As a result, she led a protection detail to cover Core ships as they rebooted and received field patches. When the Nomads launched their assault, the bloodied Core force retreated to Capetown Station. The Accra was destroyed during the initial engagement, before evacuation orders were issued.

Lusaka Wreck - E-6/5

The Lusaka was a Core destroyer that entered service in 834 AS. Commissioned using the windfall profits from a surging Iridium and Artifact trade, it was fitted with many innovative automated systems derived from the Core's exploitation of Planet Gammu. Its first major deployment was during the attack on Cairo Station in early 835 AS, where it was attached to support the Battlecruiser Bissau.

The Lusaka initially performed beyond expectations, however with the revolt of the Battleship Mars, many of its systems malfunctioned leading to a sharp drop in combat capabilities. When the Nomads launched their assault, the bloodied Core force retreated to Capetown Station. The Lusaka was lost when it attacked a Nomad battleship as a diversion to cover retreating evacuation transports.

Saldanha - E/F-6/5

The Saldanha was a Core Behemoth armored transport, typically responsible for shipping Iridium Ore to House space. In early 835 AS, it responded to emergency evacuation calls during the Battle of Capetown. Despite the best efforts of fighters covering its escape, the transport was destroyed by Nomads while retreating with casualties.
