While the Independent Miners Guild has long been known as a smalltime manufacturer of ships, less well-known are the weapons they produce. While popularly regarded as an eccentric choice compared to more widespread civilian options, decades of experience producing tachyon-based weaponry have given the IMG a thorough understanding of the underlying technology. These successes have been built on the backs of dozens of failed projects.
This gun is one such project, with tachyon flywheels which also produce pulse fields through an elegant quirk of physics, rendering the resultant projectiles equally effective against hulls and shields. These unusual properties lead the gun to be perceived as more trouble than it's worth by many pilots, but less conventionally-inclined escorts and mercenaries are occasionally willing to pay good money for the occasional model that turns up in a Guild warehouse or on the grey market.
