Possibly, but it would be weird. Controlling the spin would be difficult, as you do not know how much kinetic energy the ship would absorb from a hit. Maneuvering thrusters would be dedicated to the task of stabilizing the ship after a ram.

Avoiding Taiidan rams is easy. It isn't as maneuverable as you claim. I can avoid it in a Templar... a very slow ship. It is your own fault if it careers into you.
And please... enough pseudo-science. You're making up scientific reasoning in science-fiction. Freelancer has bad science, and we know it. Funnily enough, ramming works, missiles don't keep accelerating and lasers go much slower than light speed.
Should we have super-lasers on bombers that go at an undodgable speed? No, of course not.
Should we suck it up and dodge incoming bombers? Yes, of course we should.
Still, ramming is a lame tactic from my point of view. And it will still be a lame tactic on my eyes no matter what others say. That simple. I don't use it, and I don't allow those under my command to use it too.

Sorry, should have watched my language a bit there, my mistake. I've never considered 'suck it up' an insult, more a sort of harsh advice... but it's the recipient that matters, I suppose. :(
Anyway, I guess I'm just sick of people saying legitimate tactics are lame instead of countering them.
I don't like people Sunslayer spamming against my vanilla ships, but I don't complain, I just CD them for their efforts.
I just prefer to find counters than tell folk not to use their fighting style.
"Suck it up" would be a synonym of "suck my ****", at least to my understanding. Might not be the case for native speakers, as it might hold a different signification.

Me too. Those who use Suns on fighter PvP are just screaming to be killed with a cheap wasp.
All those people expending 100k in torps, just to be killed by a single $100 wasp:P. Is like being paid by the opponent, as you can sell his loot after that.
There are many legitimate would-be tactics. Shield running / thrusting or NPC farming could be considered legitimate for example. But those just annoy the opponent. I tend to blow up the loot to avoid that instead of using it when possible, and I used to try to CD people who shield run, but that won't stop them as the CD are too slow.
Those annoying tactics I try to avoid, like a retreat. I prefer to die in the battle instead of retreating, as i know how frustrating is to fight a guy for two hours just to see him cruise away when his hull goes critical (or to see him "crash land"), or to see him killing NPC to get BB, or thrusting away until his shields are up (I do hate that more than all the other things together, as it makes the fight last forever). After all, it's just a game. Not like the screen is going to explode and kill you when your ship blows up.:P

Aaah...pardon my random comment, but as a completely objective person who stopped flying anything smaller than a Spatial a long time ago for complete lack of skill, it seems to me that everybody in this discussion at this point is almost completely biased. Me, personally, I subconsciously want to see the crap nerfed out of bombers because they offer the biggest threat to my craft of choice, the Battleship. I won't give in, of course, because I acknowledge that I am completely biased, as a cap-whore. The same goes for the fighter people, who are getting destroyed by a new tactic they can't counter unless they get better. And, of course, the bomber people are defending their keep, because it gives them an advantage over the other players they've never had before. Everybody is biased, and this discussion will go nowhere but hell because of it.

I'm not on the side of fighters. I am a bomber lover. I fly most of the time on my RH bomber, then my gunboat, then my fighter, and sometimes on my cursed and brickship... erm, I mean cruiser and battleship, which i seem to own only because they are big and scare newbs , because those 2bill+ ships can get owned by a little 100mill bomber. And frankly, flying a bomber or a fighter is much funnier than sitting on a battleship.
