' Wrote:How will this effect bomber-vs-cap fights, I wonder, considering all you need to do is scroll 5k up untill you are looking straight down at your ship and track the bomber.
Range will still be the bombers +
and gun speed the capital ships -
Although if you get to close to BS's your having less chance to live then now.
When I first saw this, the first thing that popped in my head was the fact that NPC will not longer be able to disappear from your view when you are beyond 2k from them. Say like doing missions for the BHG in O-15, or killing cap patrols in liberty with a bomber. You can zoom in and see these targets now from afar and be able to kill them.
I wonder though, could you zoom in the other direction? Like towards the reticule and not away from the ship. Of course this would only be used for NPC killings when using caps/nova torpedoes.

awesome work. it is one of those things that change the mod and the feeling much more - and is sadly less "flashy" than new models, which unfairly receive more praise than such tweaks that really ch ange the playstyle.
secondly:
5k is too far i think .... 2.5k should be the max for battleships, 1.5k for cruisers ( if you can differentiate there )
carriers may keep 5k though
thirdly:
players must keep in mind that zooming out can mess up the aiming. when a target is between the camera and the ship - the turrets will try to point at the camera. but when you leave the autoaiming feature - the turrets will spin to the far end of the ship - meaning, they ll make a 180 degrees turn. ( in case of cruisers - that easily some 3-4 seconds time that the turrets are not firing at all )
if you re not good keeping the crosshair on your target - you ll end up with turrets not firing at all, cause they try to spin onto the target and to the opposite direction all the time.
