Well I really hope you do not make the mistake of withdrwing your application to become official.
Just take the break and relieve some of that tension, then come back and enjoy yourself.
As long as you have a good second in command the faction will look after itself.
You do seem a little upset with the community at the moment, this is not healthy and will just get worse unless you can dump those negative feelings and put things in perspective.
Believe me this feeling you have is shared by quite a few people in command positions of factions.
As long as you can recognise it and know when to take a step back there is no problem.
I have only seen a couple of DSE so far, but I have to say I enjoyed each meeting I have had.
Just focus on what you are doing right and take other's criticisms with a grain of salt.
If they do make a comment it is usually formed from a very real perspective, you just need to know what parts to ignore.
I didn't suggest you step down and leave with your tail tucked. I suggested you take a break, adjust your attitude, and come back. That is the same advice given to me by Athenian when I proposed the ZDF (along side another person). I was an ass in the feedback thread. I took people's criticism the wrong way and had I kept the attitude you have now, the ZDF would have been poorer for it. Take advice from a person who has been where you are. You need to step back and let those you trust do what you put them in the factions leadership to do. That is lead when you need them to lead.
' Wrote:This is incorrect.
What I stated was that the previous DSE faction had dissolved itself at the request of its leader, sprolf, in Jun 2010.
I also indicated that my understanding of the situation was that since then, the only mention of a DSE faction being official arose in this thread requesting officialdom, which has not been voted on yet.
The conclusion I draw from this is that you are not official. If someone told you you are, they need to tell me as well.
// I do apologize I thought I was told otherwise but thank you for clearing that up I will edit the post to avoid more confusion.
Cheers for that, again miscommunication on my part there.
We are still going to continue on for officialdom, we are not going to withdraw our application.
Myself, as Vice President of the company will be assuming the role of Acting president until things have cooled off slightly with the president, and he has recovered from his radiation sickness. Thank you all for the support, and we look forward to seeing you out in space.

DSE) Presidency roles have been returned to normal, I am resuming my role as Vice President, and John as President. You will be pleased to hear John has recovered well, the break has done him wonders.
We all look forward to seeing you again in space. Until then, take care and stay out of trouble.

Thank you all for your comments and praise, and words of hope and encouragement.
We do put considerable time into this faction, and strive to make ourselves fit within the script of this game.
I apologise for my hot-headed attitude, but DSE) is mine and Sarahs proud work and to have criticism directed toward me as a person I take too much to heart.
The evidence is here, the support we have from the community and the rapid growth we have as a faction only points that our competence in running this faction is far more than adequate. To have anyone question that is not something I take too well.
However, I will endeavour to refrain from biting back at criticism and let my VP and PR deal with most of these comments and suggestions. Saves me getting any bodies back up when I get the wrong idea about something.
With this post, I am clearly stating here that Deep Space Engineering, DSE), is not withdrawing our application to become official.
I'm quite confident that Lane Hackers will pirate you into oblivion if you carry valuable cargo. With basic / humanitarian supplies on board, you could perhaps get away with some excuses. Rogues and Outcasts might steal those as well, however.
Any comments like "don't pirate us we've got Molly cargo" will be responded to according to this handbook:
Hribek, When we buy the gold from the Mollies, although this has not gone ahead since our contract expired, it is what we consider to be 'our' commodity, We had never considered using the fact it was bought from the Mollies as an excuse to get out of being pirated. If you see anyone under the DSE) tag trying to avoid piracy in such manner, please, let me know and it will be dealt with.
