Experienced terrorist players that use level to make sure they dont get attacked. Please address that too...
I will post some screenies later to clarify what I am saying.
Well thats just brilliant! PVP disabled in NY regardless of the mass vote in favour of it being on.
Why? Because a few want to use the undel level limit to protect themselves from the big boys while they fly around NY harrasing player below level 30. Well done you people, you should be proud. Finally NY was turning slowly into a place you could RP and it's potentially ruined now.
The case of the 101st player is bad but the player involved apologised and arranges a payment of 5 million to him. Most of the others I have seen have been players just there to ram people and be disruptive.
Well, I just found out how annoying it is for a no PvP zone to be slap bang at one end of two very profitable trade routes, which are both smuggling routes.
Imagine being a member of the local police force, having to let people go whom you know have Cocaine or Heroin on their person. Same as me letting these Cardimine smugglers through. I don't have any choice in the matter, and whats worse, the majority of law enforcers who will experience this have done nothing wrong. No under level characters, no under level killing. Instead of turning off PvP completely, why dont you just ban PvP from players under level 30 serverwide, even between each other? If its just a question of putting money on a character, why not just do this to the lower level ships?
But that would cause problems, mostly for Xoria's hackers, who have been trying hard to encourage the sort of thing that has just been banned.
Now I shall give a hypothetical example. Imagine, PvP in New Berlin turned off. RM would be powerless to stop the legions of traders, smugglers, law breakers and pirates from jumping in directly to the heart of Rheinland, like the Liberty Armed Forces being powerless to stop pirates from jumping directly into Liberty.
I even got backchat from the smuggler saying that "I have no cargo" after he docked with Buffalo infront of me and dropped off his cardimine. Made worse by the fact that I have a screenshot of this Cardimine.
And don't blame the locals when NY deteriorates into a OOC chatfest again. Which it will.

This is a much better solution than shutting down PVP in New York....
which honestly is really bad news:(
Most LH players would gladly exchange under 30 pvp for PVP and RP in NY.
Igiss says: Martin, you give them a finger, they bite off your arm.
I would see it in dependence to the ID. If an under lvl 30 player changes civ ID to faction or generic ID for RP purposes, the player should be not longer protected by that rule.
Just my opinion

edit: I guess 13Cent would have not complained, if a high lvl LSF char, for example, would blow him.

And there is a difference between Role Play and PvP abusing under level/ New People
Y'know, when I heard about under-30 players taunting police, farming lawful NPCs in full view of lawful players, hauling contraband in full view... I made the suggestion that the lawful factions should keep a few under-30 characters around to 'deal with' those abusers. But attacking newbies, or those just trying to get a new character put together, that's just pathetic.
' Wrote:@Xoria: It's not the fact that I was blown up in my starflier, but the situation that it was blown up in. A starflier means nothing to me. I had some credits coming my way and was stood still waiting outside Manhatten for them. This is when a low level LSF ship took it upon himself to attack and destroy me. If a new player is waiting or receiving help outside manhatten, the last thing they want is to be attacked and destroyed.
And as a side note, I've been up to Alpha through Alaska, minor, delta, kappa and whatever else in a starflier. Leaving NY really isn't a problem for me.
That incident was a misunderstanding. The low level LSF character was made in response to low-level pirate characters who roleplay as pirates, hanging around in New York preying on other low level players.
I admit I was in the wrong. Later that hour, I contacted one of your colleagues in 101st, and sent 5 million credits of my own savings to him by means of an apology.
You should receive this compensation next time the 2 of you are on-line together.
Given the work I had done after the incident to attempt to make things right, I would have hoped the issue would have been dropped;- I have been assured by Fellow Hoodlum that the aforementioned incident was not the one that triggered this preventative measure by the admins.

a point. Its nothing to do with the ship, its down to how much money there is on the character.
If you want to fly Daggers and their contemporary ships, just drop a million on the char, problem solved.
It would stop the problem in an instant.
The rest is just a way round the guns not working on 29 and below ships ...
Hoodlum
Have to disagree with you there.
I am intentionally encouraging our Daggers to remain below level 30.
The reason?
Because otherwise every last "independent" non-clan lawful in Liberty comes after you because they see an easy kill. Some of them do it even when we are under level 30, as happened to me just within the last hour. Even some of the Liberty lawful clan members do so as well. I know this because we had it happening the first few days we were operational.
The only way our Lane Hacker clan system is going to work is if our Daggers have some measure of protection from the Ravens Claws, Ravens Talons, Avengers etc, not to mention the cap ships belonging to all the Bounty Hunters.
We are willing to accept the occasional abuser who targets us when we are under level 30, but only because the gains outweigh the losses. If we put enough financial value on our Daggers to make them viable targets to everyone (upgraded equipment of all types would do it without credits), then I can just about guarantee that we would drop that from our career system in a few days because none of our members would stand any chance at completing the other promotion criteria while running from every other player in sight.
Granted, I have gotten a lot of negative critiques from the community about that part of our system, but those who have joined are working it, and I think they are enjoying the challenge that practically no other clan here provides.
From our experience, an over rank 30 Dagger is the worst of both worlds, and doesn't solve anything.
All that said, PvP in NY in my opinion is the best way to go. There are advantages and disadvantages both ways, but I think the advantages outweigh the disadvantages.
In any case, I am still waiting for a certain hoodlum to defect from [IND] and join the forces of Righteousness.
