I got my account hacked back in the day, when I was fresh to steam.
but this was different. My friends account got hacked and I got a link from a friend. Of course I didn't know he got hacked. How could I.
And I didn't pay attention to the minor spelling mistakes and the internet adress, so puf, there goes my steam acc.
got it back, and there were no items back then, so I got off okay.
Now I get links almost daily. and when I get a link from a friend, I just think to myself: "I feel sorry for you buddy"
so yeh, be vary of friends sending you links as well. And be sure to not waste too much time reporting this to steam, cause almost all invites you'll be getting are from bots and bots don't know what they're doing.

This, not so much for me as I don't use Steam, but you can apply the third line to pretty much any e-mail from a random person -or- any suspicious e-mail that says it's from a government service, which has happen to me recently.
Got an e-mail from the AFP (Australian Federal Police) about a traffic fine and I immediately thought there was something add about it. Checked the link and a few other things, went to the AFP site via gooogle and found a notice saying that there was an e-mail scam going around that looked like what I got.

So, long story short, bullet dodged.
I got one of these too and I was even more suspicious because I don't even drive.
