Recently re-opened studies from high ranking Order scientists have shown that the Veils around the Nomad ships act as shields, protecting them from incoming gun and projectile fire alike. The Nomad ships can create lattices of semi-sentient micro-organisms around their ships at their own discretion which will take the damage otherwise inflicted on the Nomad ship. This version of the Veil is the most generic type. Commonly seen on gunboats and cruisers, the Greater Veil carries an increased amount of protective micro-organisms and is adept at protecting the Nomad ships against a great deal of firepower.
