Well, as none of them except andrew are technically in the military, we might as well say they exist within their own chain of command, and are not answerable to the regular BAF.
Of course, this will spawn elitism... but that's a side effect of being good, eh? :D

Not sure that rankings are really necessary for the privateers. We'll usually join in when needed, and I can't remember a time we've ever needed to order someone to follow our lead.
