It wouldnt make you invisible, just not detectable on scanners, this way you can still be fired at and the effect is only useful for smaller ships - a battleship would still be visible from 15k+ away due to it's large size.
The it will take sense to add especially roleplay nice option of hardly damaged engines with bodies of flame (Yepp, i have no idea about how can it be done and can it be done at all). I mean something like an LSF ship that Trent and King met in the second part of the mission one.
As i remember, there is a special model for that ship, but if it will be possible to make it avaliable for all the ships, it will be nice for finishing the roleplay-related PVP and will be useful for events at all.

You wont drift very far, even if you shut off power when you're at max thruster speed, you'll only go like 3-4k tops before you slow to a stop. Freelancer space has resistance =P
