This event seems to have a lot more potential since it addresses all the technical and game-play problems that was a constant headache in the previous events.
For example you have calculated the distance between the two sides. And that you have not allowed a single dock-able place apart from the starting point is incredibly well done since it will bring more value to a kill. No longer do you have to work your behind off as a bomber-wing to take down that Battleship only to see it coming back in less than thirty seconds.
Clearly you have taken lessons regarding load-out problems as well as Capital Armor issues that was observed in the last two events. With Battleships flying around in the highest whilst the other capital classes had lower armor upgrades, it literately forced the whole event into a massive Battleship fight. This is not a good depiction of a real fleet battle. Good job on that as well and hopefully people will feel more compelled to fly smaller crafts now that a kill actually counts and that the concept of survivability is finally relevant.
I also see that we are now able to customize at least some areas of our equipment which is great since everyone have different flying styles and not everybody enjoys an all-gun load out or being forced into carrying a missile. This is important because it removes some of that frustration which you can feel during combat as you are forced to fly in a uncomfortable combat-style.
The only downside (I guess) is the fact that the approach of this third event feels like yet another mindless killing fest. But at least this one will have a lot more of that fun-factor in it which will make it that much more enjoyable. Of course I expect sudden twists and other random stuff to emerge in order to spice things up.
All in all I just wanna conclude my long post with the fact that you have addressed all those minor problems that piled up into an avalanche of frustration in the previous events which is fantastic to hear. And hopefully with the introduction of creative twists, the large fleet battles will feel more worth staying in for more than an hour.

Hopefully the random stuff will spice it up. We had an intricate plan for a Hessian/Corsair event which would involve something akin to "steal the bacon" or "capture the flag" involving freighters, escorting and a few other extremely cool ideas and mechanics.
Then Cannon reminded us that we would probably want to host the event within the next 9 months so we opted, though not without a measure of regret, to consider the most practical alternative. This event can be managed across multiple days with a minimum of babysitting, which is ideal given its around the clock nature.
A way a lone a last a loved a long the riverrun, past Eve and Adam's, from swerve of shore to bend of bay,
brings us by a commodius vicus of recirculation back to Howth Castle and Environs.
