If you demand 10million from a player who has no amount of cash like that (ie his level is waay below someone who has 10mil), and you do it constantly that's a nice ground for breaking the rule 0.0
fairness to others.
I'll say it once more:
If you want to pirate for cash, you can't really go high unless you catch a miner thats LOADED with cash.
if you happen to find a level 50 miner with 5k of gold ore, then guess what, you can demand that cash all you want, you're not getting it.
it's your fault you don't have a damn transport around.
You can kidnap the guy and contact an transport, as long as you dont hold the guy forever, and transport comes, it's a valid piracy.
Overall, I'd call it a PvP abuse.. and effing retarded to demand say, 10 mil from a Freighter, I guess it's the Admins disgression to judge the stupidity of the request.
Unless I'm mistaken, I don't think there are any neutral or unlawful bases that pay good money for ore, so there is little point in a pirate taking this commodity unless they have a Junker or Hogosha friend nearby. I actually spent a few days roaming around with a thousand ore that I looted because I couldn't get rid of it, until I had it robbed from me by a miner! That's karma I suppose. Anyway, the point is that the pirate is either getting a good pay or virtually nothing from a miner. In fact, there's as much chance of taking a full round of level 2 transport turrets in either scenario. As for the average transport that is carrying bulk products, a pirate can often sell these at their own base or at least somewhere within their usual house or the nearest Freeport. That is not the case with ore as only a few refineries will pay anything over a few credits. In Liberty, silver ore is useless and likewise gold ore is to Kusarian pirates, unless the Junkers or Hogosha could negotiate some shady deals in Kusari or Rheinland respectively.
In other words, a pirate must be a little more tactful when targeting a miner.

In our group we have some bounty hunter characters who guard us at mining point and on our way to selling point. It is YOU who should care about it. I do and i don't get blown up in my tanker full of platinum ore.
On the other hand, when i'm a pirate, i dont blow up people who try to lower the tax. I dont meet many of such people, actually, as i demand more then 3 millions only if this guy annoys me in some way. And i find it completely reasonable that i can demand something like diving into a sun and then blow this guy to pieces if he is lolwutting or... well, annoying me. However, when some guy pays me 1m after being asked for 2 and crying about low credits and when he's away he is starting to laugh about how did he trick me, well, those times make me less willing to lower the taxes.

Thats a fine example of bad demands. I myself wont go higher than two Million Credits. And that only if I see a Transport level 77+. I will be pretty sure that he would have enough cash.
If I pirate for the size of a Transport....I can buy me a new Mastodon and only have 2 Million Credits. What if someone throws a 5 Million Credit demand onto my head?
If you want to play a Pirate, you dont need excessive demands. It's about the demand by itself. You play a pirate to have fun, not earning yourself money for your new Cruiser. If I do my Half Million Demands, I first earn more than I would with 2 Million Demands. More people will pay the 500K instead the 2 Mill.

Good way to get nothing then. Pirating 1mil per 1k cargo is extremely poor form, it has been said so many times on this forum. Factions that did so changed thier policies because the community felt it was bad form.
Traders: 1-2mil is the standard. Maybe up to 5mil if RP warrants it; and "he has 5k cargo" is not the RP that warrants it. Any higher than that and you are walking the line on PvP abuse.
Miners: Admins have said you can expect to see 10mil+ demands if you have a full load and get caught.
As for the topic. Screen shot it and post a sanction. I had a guy demand 10mil from me to pass through 1 system. I told him that was unreasonable and offered him 2mil to escort me. He killed me. He then refused to talk to me about it. Or anyone else for that matter. Last time I saw him online he was in Bastille. These are the pirates that give other pirates a bad name, wish the good pirates would pirate them too!
