Normal capship turrets are lame, very bland looking and the only real difference between factions is color change.
Razors are too big, and too flashy for their purpose - the razor projectile looks like it should be far more damaging than even the heavy mortar, but it barely leaves a scratch in comparison. Razor projectiles should be sized down.
Pulse cannons are awesome right now, I love the sound effect, but I think the projectile should be colored blue instead of the yellow/white it is right now.
Mortars arent bad... but I wish the turret model (the actual hardpoint model on the ship) looked more powerful, right now razor turrets have a bigger model than mortar turrets do.
Solaris are horrible, very simple and the projectile is so small it hardly fulfills it's purpose as an antifighter weapon. Also, as pointed out in my post, solaris are great for smaller cruisers, but still ineffective for large cruisers and battlecruisers as point defense weapons.
I would still like to see a few new heavy weapons for capships, like the ion cannon and mass driver I proposed. Capship weapon selection is extremely limited at the moment.
oh and here is something I suggested.. it's pretty much insane and someone said it's impossible to code .. but I think he meant really hard =3

It would be cool if it could be a new kind of equipment, just like CD or CM or M.
it could be a weapon called Nanites Launcher or something alike. It could have multiple effects like: Countering Nanobots. They make the use of nanobots useless (Let's say you have a 50 nanite anti-nanobot package, it neutralises 50 nanobots)
Another one could be a power disrupting weapon. It sucks the energy out of a ship until it self-destructs (it drains the energy output of a ship for a imited time or ower it's maximum power)
Another one could be a device disabling unit that attacks weapons and other tools by making them go offline for a limited time. (I.E. You use it: it randomly selects the cruise disruptor and makes it go offine for.. idk.. 15 seconds?)
Another one could reduce the power of the evemy ship's weapons by let's say X% for X seconds
And as a drawback, this weapon coud require to disable the enemy's shield or get through them with the ship and use the weapon within it's shield.
Torp Slot:
Sniper cannon. Similar to the Mini Razor, but with a much better projectile speed and, to compensate, much lower damage.
Guns:
More variety in civilian arms. They have pulse, lasers, and chain guns. Plasma was mentioned, that's a good idea - the typical projectile speed (600) matches with most codenames, too. And Neutron. One for each shield type. The variety shouldn't be a problem since Civilian guns are pretty crappy compared to faction weapons anyway, but it gives people a few more options for their freelancers (and police, perhaps.)
On that note, can we get a class 9 particle chain gun? thanks.
Turrets:
More variety in transport turrets! Maybe some pulse, or an anti-fighter, <strike>or a transport mortar</strike> sorry, I have a... er.... bad cough?
Most the suggestions listed sofar seem ok, but there are more than enough different type's of pew pew's for the ships all shapes & sizes. Whats needed is more base & planetary defense weapons.
Some high speed rapid firing auto cannons, a defensive gauss rifle to pop at cap ships. Flak cannons for bases & planets & of course missiles ( some new ones would be cool, maybe an emp or somethin.
As it stands now, 1 battleship can knock out a base weapons with just a single missile fired every 30 seconds, thus base cant defend it self. should be much harder to approach a hostile base or planet & far more deadlier.
What about i giant thing....... Like a giant flyable rocket. and when it goes.... a pair of 5k blasts go off, trashing all fighters. maybe a rad generator too..
Heres a suggestion I beleive all pirates shall love, being as pirate's do hit and runs on trader's they generally dont stick around to have to fight the mass waves of police. So... my idea is *DRUM ROLL*
A Flare Mine
A mine that does no damage but blasts a very power light (like the one of the supernova, Which is very blinding I might add when your close) maby even intensify it a little.
This flare mine will blind everyone within a good 1k-1.5k distance, even the user, but it allows then to engage cruise without the attacker being able to see them or shoot them. So that they can effectively get away or get a good thrust away.
But with how the target is red and the explosion would be white perhaps the flare may be to red enstead effectively masking and covering the target
