well, if we just have civy of all types, you can use all guns! Make em like yellowish.
Then we dont NEED faction guns of all types.So Yus?

To bland, sure its a good idea, may even be done depending on the other dev's word.

But i reckon that Liberty, Rheinland, Bretonia, Kusari, Gallia(?), Order, Corsairs, Outcasts, BD(?). Would have the know how to make such weapons like Photon, Particle, Neutron, Laser and Plasma.

This is just my own personal idea here, and may be shot down by others (for good reasons maybe) because i do know some negatives. I just find in my point of view that the positives outgo the negative.

Oh my, do I have plenty of ideas!

First of all, Lugers should be made prettier than solid blobs of color. I suggest a combination of green and cyan, like Destroyers are green and yellow.

BHG gunboat turrets (not sure on the large capship varieties) are really boring - I suggest making them the color of the fighter guns. Possibly with the Cerberus shape.

Class 8 Gaian and BHG guns should be made to look like the class 9 variety, too.

Making the Gunboat battle razor looks prettier would be quite nice, too. Not real ideas on that though.

A Darkmatter Cannon. Now, there's plenty of it in Galileo and the like. Here's my thoughts: Visually, have it similar to the Lazurite, but a combination of dark blue/purple, with a particle weapon type trail that's white. It would be a torpedo slot gun, like the Mini Razor, but would be primarily shield damage, but a bunch less than the Inferno (with faster speed and still low refire). The difference, though, would be when it hit - it would have a CD effect. If it had limited range, it would be effective at helping to stall some transports, but mainly as a utility gun that could stop pesky engine killing fighters.

More civilian guns. Right now there are the Flashpoints and a couple assorted fast particle weapons. I'd like to see an off-speed Neutron gun (3.03 or 5.88 speed) on the civilian market, too. The same with a Tachyon gun. Zoner photon guns are widely available, so that's not as needed. But definitely a civilian plasma gun!

There's also a distinct lack of yellow guns. The Vampire series used to be, but it's much more dramatic and un-yellow now. One of the new civilian guns should be yellow.

A Paralyzer Torpedo would also be neat. Damage similar to the Screamer mine, but with a bit of a delay (combined with ammo usage, it'd give the option for an anti-shield torpslot weapon to more groups while letting the Inferno still stand apart).

Class 8 missiles. Seriously.

If I come up with any more, I'll make sure to post. I distinctly recall having other ideas before, but I can't recall at present.

How about a Generic weapon (like cerbs, etc) that has very slow refire but high dmg impact, like a plasma howitzer. think like a .25 refire but 40k dmg hull per hit. the idea is a cruiser and battleship gun horrid for use on fighters but good on caps.

No, the idea of a battleship isn't to kill battleships. Because it they we're made to kill battleships, there wouldn't have invented battleships. anyway, it wouldn't make sense.

It's like saying a tank is only made to kill other tanks. Big ships are made to bombard planets and to be very powerful and use as a flying base for fighters.

True, but im saying a GUN for its use. pretty much like a small version of a mortar. keep in mind a gun of that size could also be reasonably rp'd as a bombardment weapon.
