I have no didea if it`s possible but I had this idea.
as an alternative to a mortar, make a massive beam cannon with a beam that remains constant, but drains energy while activated. something like those 90`s anime spaceship beam cannons.
that way, it can serve as anti-cap, and maybe a little as anti bomber.
just liek mortars you can amke classes.
"light beam" drains little energy, but does weak damage per second
"medium beam" is a larger beam with more dagame per second, but also more drain
"heavy beam" is a massive beam that has huge amounts of damage per second, but drains like mad.
it`s up to the pleyer how long he wants to keep the beam activated.
Range of 50m.
Plenty of damage.
Smokey firey effects, similar to the stationary mining ship cutting asteroid ones.
Low/Medium energy requirements.
Very low rate of fire.
For Cruisers/Battleships.
Perhaps freighters too if the energy is done well enough.
Would result in lots of collisions. let say like 500m range so nobody will say: I crashd in u cuz i need to go in gunz range.

Can i make a suggestion on the transport turrets? Leave them as they are, BUT replace the effects (sound and visual) of the type 1 with the type 4. The type 4 is generally better than the type 1, but the type one has an awsome sound and graphic effect, whilst the type 4...well...doesn't

What about increase refire rate to Maximum that is available with projectile speed as fastest as available?

Yewah maybe that would work but if you turned I think it would make a wave... and I think there might be also lag issues.. just like that infinite missile swarm weapon.
