' Wrote:Well then is'nt that the whole point of an escort?
No. An escort who's doing his job should prevent the trader from ever getting near a pirate in the first place. If the escort has failed in that, then there's nothing else to be done, really.

Alright fair enough.
Its just that a lone escort finds it a bit hard to do that.
Because obviously you can't be in more than one place at the same time.

You don't have to be. Fly down the lane before the trader does. If it's clear, the trader then follows. If it's not, then the trader lies low until it is safe.
You see, this is the kind of attitude that can make it frustrating for a pirate. Many people just think the fact that we're stealing on a regular basis instead of working a little illogical.
Well, at least for those of us who RP, there's a reason for the character to do such things. Mine, Drake Calvin (LR-Lapsed.Pacifist) was forced to do it in order to support his family after his parent's lost their jobs. He didn't have any other way of making ends meet. After he got deep into it (look for the story The Defective Ghost in the Stories/Biographies section) and got in serious trouble, he couldn't get a job because he couldn't go public.
(All this has reminded me I need to update the story soon)
Well, the point is, dont just assume we're all badly RP'd "10milrdai" pirates. Give us a chance, and you'll probably enjoy us as a part of the community.
