Yeah, I thought I'd add something else to this one.

Because even now the pirates already lost his chance of getting paid
if the trader has an escort.

Because:
1.Pirates kill trader, as always.
2.Escorts kill pirate.

So either way, pirates are not getting anything, if the trader has escort.

Unless of course the pirate likes to destroy traders, is doing it just to spite the trader, or to get the blue message.

No. An escort who's doing his job should prevent the trader from ever getting near a pirate in the first place. If the escort has failed in that, then there's nothing else to be done, really.

2. If you are just twice as good in fighting as in escroting - than I'd say you are far too optimist.

1. I dont know why you think the destruction of the transport means the pirate has no profit. That means a lot cargo lying around in a segment of space over the watchful eye of a pirate. And finding a buyer for it is always a great rp opportunity. And thats what pirates up for, not your money.

Because, you've still got to defeat the escort before you get to it.
And while you are doing this, the chances are there probally will be other traders going past.

Very good point.

Another thing I'd like to bring up is a common argument against getting an escort. When buzing around in my Hyena, moving towards an ambush spot or such, I often hear a fwe escorts broadcasting their services. Almost every time, there's some guy who says that the escort will cost as much as a pirate.

Now, this may end up being true, or it may not be. If you actually run into pirates with a decent demand (500k-1mil), you might be better off paying the pirate. If it's ~2mil, it may be the same paying an escort or going alone. However, with the growing population of "10milrdai" pirates hunting miners, an escort could be a very good investment.

Really, it all depends on who you want to pay, and how much.

Because, you've still got to defeat the escort before you get to it.

Do I realy need to defeat that escort? I can just dodge, circle and stuff untill he gets bored. And if I already took down a transport, it doesent matters how many others come. If they try to take my loot, they can be just as easily destroyed as the first one - even with a fighter on my tail. And I dont know how frequently you encounter empty traders coming range of a fight for some floating loot.

Well, then, if you think they're being beyond excessive to the point of being an asshat, then screenshot the whole thing, and submit a sanction report. If the Admins agree, then he'll get slapped hard enough to think twice in the future.
