How'd it stop base hugging? If the attacker also looses energy it means he/she is left near a hostile base/battle ship and with no energy to shoot the hugger to begin with. It sounds like a good idea for the ultimate NFZ though.

I'm hoping there is a way to make the field not drain allied energy levels, hence why I hope its hooked onto the base and certain ID ships don't get drained.

And yes, it is also aimed at enforcing NFZ's.

great idea... since NPC's isnt ever effected by FL hook stuff, then id say. Good idea, now nomnoms, sairs and bhg can rape you at Fp11 and your shields can regen....

why isnt NPCS affected by FL hook? look at them, they still RAM you so hard that you flip over like if a battleship rammed your battleship...

or even better, their totally immune to stuff like cruisedrain

good idea but there is a quite simpler way to solve this problem.

give all bases a damn big buff in firepower and add turrets so that there is no dead zone to idle in.

stations are waaaay to weal anyway.

/edit: small-medium bases already should have Isis firepower. bigger ones more...

More firepower would only target enemies, if there is a NFZ how can they enforce that against neutrals? More firepower will only be good against enemies.

I'm hoping this could be used against neutrals and enemies to help enhance the roleplay of NFZs and make enemy bases a much more deadly place since bombers would be in huge trouble if they can't fire their weapons.

NFZ stuff is just one little point which will be better to make when you add this. I'm talking about it in general.

in general: only enemies should have a disadvantage close to stations. its totally in RP to hug a base if it belongs to your faction/is allied with you to save your live.

/edit:

give all station Isis firepower or more + more turrets to have no dead zone to sit in AND add energie drain bubble to freeports could be a solution:P

True yes, and I don't see why most bases should get a power boost and a drain bubble.
