      Areas of Interest

      Nebulae

      Utrecht Cloud

      >>>WARNING: NAVIGATIONAL HAZARD<<<

The Utrecht Cloud is a beautiful, lush nebula on the outskirts of Omega-55, orbiting its two central stars. There are persistent rumors of hidden secrets and failed experiments lurking within the cloud dating back to the initial Rheinland colonization of the system. Even Bornholm's most foolhardy prospectors avoid the Utrecht.

      Groningen Cloud

      >>>WARNING: UNKNOWN TERRITORY<<<

Charted in 798 AS by Rheinland explorers eager to unlock Omega-55’s mysteries, the Groningen Cloud is a small outcropping of the Walker Nebula located on the system’s outskirts. Initially overlooked during the system’s early years, Rheinland’s later attempts at a thorough exploration were thwarted by fierce resistance from the Red Hessians. With no official reports ever published, the Groningen Cloud remains one of the many mysteries of the deep Omegas.

      Reykjavik Nebula

      >>>WARNING: UNKNOWN TERRITORY<<<

A sizeable outcropping of the Walker Nebula in the southeastern region of Omega-55. It is believed the Nebula was first charted by Rheinland in 798 AS, however all records of this expedition were seemingly expunged during the Colony Wars. The Reykjavik Nebula remains shrouded in mystery and speculation.

      Asteroid Fields

      Explosive Gas Zone

      Kattegat Lava Field

      >>>CAUTION<<<

An accumulation of molten rock, liquidized by Omega-55's twin stars and especially violent asteroid collisions. The Kattegat field itself is a veritable treasure trove of all manner of minerals, metals and radioactive isotopes; historically, attempts to exploit these resources have been deterred by fierce Coalition attacks, the remote location, and the dangerous conditions. From a distance, the scattered light from the roiling volatility is starkly beautiful.

      Skagerrak Planetary Fragments

      >>>WARNING: NAVIGATIONAL HAZARD<<<

A fragmented, dense cluster of planetary debris on the outskirts of Omega-55. Disappearances and ferocious pirate attacks thwarted all initial surveying attempts, with most travelers now limiting their incursions to only those strictly necessary to reach Omega-41.

Remains of disabled pit-fighters. The ships appear to have been stripped of reusable internal components.

      Contains:

      Zacari Benitez - G-2

The wreck of a Corsair raiding ship belonging to Zacari Benitez. It is unknown how the vessel ended up in its current condition. The pilot is missing in action.

      Contains:

      Sapphire Sparrow - C-2

The remains of the Sapphire Sparrow, a young Zoner explorer eager to chart the uncharted dangers of the Omegas. Despite her skill in navigating the region’s many natural hazards, her end came at the hands of an artificial foe.

During the Freeport 9 tensions between the Corsairs and the Zoners, she was intercepted and shot down by an overzealous Corsair patrol. Her Dromedary now drifts endlessly amidst the haunting beauty of the Omega-55 system, a somber reminder of the fragility of peace in such volatile space.

      Contains:

      Hoarding Bride - B/A-2/3

The pilot of this small and nimble freighter, Charlie Swift, hailed from Liberty. She worked with the Hessians and was known for her vocal opposition to the Bounty Hunters, who put a hefty bounty on her head.

Sensor analysis indicates that her ship was severely damaged, and two of its three fuel tanks were hit. Although her final moments are speculative, Charlie probably lost her bearings in the north cloud of the Omega-55 system and ran out of fuel. Her desiccated remains are still present in the cockpit of her ship.

      Contains:

      Mauler - C-8/7

The wreckage of the Hammerhead belonging to bounty hunter John "Mauler" Gallagher, drifting in orbit around a nearby planetoid. Gallagher, in pursuit of the notorious Corsair Santiago Rivera, received a tip from the Junkers regarding Rivera's location. The two clashed in a fierce duel above Aarhus.

In a critical moment, Gallagher executed a sharp right turn in an attempt to flank Rivera, but Rivera anticipated the maneuver, responding with an even sharper turn that placed him perfectly on Gallagher's tail. A full barrage from Rivera's Escopeta Cannons resulted in the swift destruction of Gallagher's ship, bringing his hunt - and his life - to an abrupt end.

      Contains:

      Patrol 33 Escort - C/B-2/3

The wreckage of a Valkyrie, once part of Rheinland Patrol 33 during the early stages of Rheinland's expeditions in Omega-55.

Despite the squadron's involvement in the mysterious operations within the Utrecht Cloud, Rheinland has never publicly acknowledged what was discovered there, leaving the fate of Patrol 33 forever shrouded in mystery.

      Contains:

      Contains:

      Santa Clara - C/B-7

The Santa Clara was the personal fighter of notorious Coalition commissar Sophia Wirtz. Her ship was destroyed in 830 AS, with the hull being scored by impacts consistent with both Coalition tachyon and Core particle weapons.

      Contains:

      Data Miner - Unknown-5

The remains of the Data Miner, a broker who once worked for Interspace Commerce before becoming an independent contractor. The Eagle appears to be heavily damaged and showing no signs of life. The ship's black box contains no recorded data, leaving its location and purpose shrouded in mystery. Rumors suggest that the pilot was a master at mining and deciphering data.

      Contains:

      Deceiver - E-8/7

The remains of the Deceiver, a Banshee-class fighter of the Rheinland Military, resting deep within the remote southeastern nebula of Omega-55. Once piloted by David Reus, the vessel has been adrift for over a decade. Extensive damage across its hull renders it unfit for anything beyond serving as a point of navigation.

A pathway leading deeper into the nebula appears visible near the wreckage. No official records document what lies within the tunnel, or beyond it.

      Contains:

      Illusionist - G-7

The wreckage of the Illusionist, once piloted by Rheinland Military officer Ana Richter. Richter's Banshee shows significant damage around its wings and the front of the vessel. Despite this, the compact hull remains largely intact, suggesting much of its equipment may still be attached.

The most plausible theory to date states that the Banshee got hit by a sudden, noticeable kinetic force, strong enough to rip off the ship's limbs without shredding through the hull.

Whereabouts of the Illusionist's accident are unknown, though it is likely related to the Sektor-15 disaster. No public records of the accident have ever been disclosed, leaving this wreck a mystery eternally sealed in space.

      Contains:

      - G-7

      - G-7

      - G/F-7

      Hoedspruit - D-5

The Core destroyer Hoedspruit was constructed at Alabama Shipyard in 829 AS. Dispatched to Dagger Outpost to serve in the local defense force, it later participated in the assault on Kamchatka Station alongside its sister ship Letaba. While patrolling in early 835 AS, it encountered a large swarm of AI Drones. The Hoedspruit was quickly overwhelmed and torn apart; no survivors or bodies were found at the wreck.
