"Stronghold" Reinforced Composite Plating

A massive plate armor setup composed of alloys of superheavy actinide metals such as uranium. Most traditional weapon fire merely scratches the paint on this plating, as the sheer density of the material simply does not budge under thermal or kinetic pressure from anything other than specialized armor-piercing munitions or incredibly overwhelming output. However, the hyperdense alloy will add nearly half the mass of the ship in most setups, which together with the cost of these specialized fabrications prevents its widespread use.
